FSM (Federico Secondo Matta) is Castello Vicchiomaggio's flagship, Super Tuscan red wine made in strictly limited quantities. Named after John Matta's father, it is 100% Merlot sourced from vines grown on a steep south-east facing plot of the Vicchiomaggio estate. Matured in French barriques for 16 months and a further year in bottle before release the Castello Vicchiomaggio FSM has a rich and complex nose. Concentrated raspberry syrup and black cherry, then layers and layers of tertiary aromas like cedar, chocolate, herbs and graphite are to the fore.
