Fruit for the Matetic EQ Quartz Chardonnay is sourced from the estates own organic and biodynamic vineyards grown in the Rosario Valley. The grapes were harvested by hand, and once at the winery cooled and submitted to further strict bunch selection. They were pressed softly and fermentation was carried out in different size French, Burgundy oak barrels (some new oak). Only native yeast was used to ferment and in this way the wine achieve a real expression of the vineyard, increasing the complexity and elegance of the final mixture. The wine was aged in barrels on fine lees for 12 months with 6 months lees stirring to get volume, roundness and a well-integrated wood aroma. The EQ Quartz Chardonnay is brilliant yellow in colour. On the nose it offers citric and tropical fruit aromas that blend beautifully with flavours of honey and peaches, along with its distinct salty minerality.
